I am a passionate, nature-loving, music-adoring, peace-promoting and empathic Registered Counsellor. I have known that this profession was my calling from the age of 10, when my family went through a divorce. I met the most wonderful therapist, who offered me age-approriate guidance through the challenging stages that followed, and I truly believe that I would not be as well-balanced without her, as I am today.

I was fortunate enough to complete my undergrad through UCT, and then went on to UNISA to complete my Honours and BPsychEquiv, allowing me to write the HPCSA board exam and register as a Counsellor. I completed my intership through The traumaClinic in Kenilworth and spent a year as a Counsellor at a local High School in Town. Here I developed my keen passion for working with children and adolescents.

I also spent 2 years with an organisation called the Community Intervention Center, training and working as a volunteer trauma worker. Here I was exposed to varied trauma cases, and loved working on every one.

In my personal life, I have found that relaxation, meditation and mindfulness techniques have the ability to help re-establish balance, peace and mental quiet. I now pass these techniques on in the hope that they can assist with anxiety, stress and burnout.

I am passionate about working with families who are dealing with a divorce, and helping them work through the challenging stages and transitions of this life-change.

This is just a brief summary of who I am and what I love. There is more about me under each specific heading at the top of the page. I strive to create a supportive, relaxed and empathic environment to foster the development of a strong and healthy therapeutic relationship.
